HISTORY OF NEWTOWN SQUARE – IN THE LISETER BARN!
Wednesday, October 18th at 7:00 p.m.
The Newtown Square Historical Society invites you to our monthly program on Wednesday, October 18th at 7:00 p.m. AT THE CARRIAGE BARN AT LISETER – to hear Doug Humes give the Society’s slideshow on the History of Newtown Square.
We are thrilled to be able to reach out and welcome the new neighbors who have been populating the new community of Liseter on the former DuPont estate. Mrs. DuPont’s carriage barn has been renovated and repurposed into the beautiful community center and event venue for the Community. They have graciously agreed to host our event at the Barn, and to invite in their residents, our members, and the public at large, to see the Barn, and to enjoy our slideshow on the fascinating history of Newtown Square.
Doug Humes is a former president of the Newtown Square Historical Society, and was drawn to the group when he attended the history slideshow that Society founder Stan Short would present. Doug is thrilled to honor Stan and continue chronicling the Township’s history in photos and maps and anecdotes from the past.
This program only will be held at the Carriage Barn at Liseter. Use the community entrance across from Saw Mill Road, and park near the model homes. Come with friends – parking is limited. Admission is free. Refreshments are served.
