Delaware County Makes Compost Available for Residents

Written by george on . Posted in News

Compost will be available for pick up by Delaware County residents free of charge during the month of May or until compost supplies are exhausted.  This is available to Delaware County residents only (businesses and out-of-county residents will be turned away).  Please bring your own shovels and containers with you, as well as proof of residency.

Pickups from the Marple Transfer Station, which is located at 895 Sussex Blvd., Broomall, PA 19008 are offered on Saturdays and Sundays from 8:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.  Pickups from the Chester Transfer Station which is located at Incinerator Road, Chester Township, 19014 are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. until the current crop is exhausted (typically sometime in early June).

Newtown Township is making WOOD CHIPS available to its residents this year.  The wood chips, made from branch collections and Ash Tree (and other tree) removals are available from the bin located at the parking lot next to Brookside Park (intersection of Bryn Mawr Avenue and Brookside Road).  Residents may take what they like until our supply is exhausted.  Newtown Township is unable to offer compost deliveries or pickup this year.
