Collection of Recyclable Material

All bidding documents will be available online at no cost at www.PennBid.net beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 20, 2018.

Bids must be accompanied by an approved form of bid security equal to at least 10% of the total net bid price. A 100% Performance Bond will be required.

All bids received will be opened online and publicly read aloud at 1:00 p.m., prevailing time on Monday, August 27, 2018 at the Newtown Township Municipal Building, 209 Bishop Hollow Road, Newtown Square, PA 19073.

2018 De-Icing Salt Contract

For the Municipalities of Newtown, Middletown, Radnor, Marple, Upper Providence, Ridley Park, Edgmont, Haverford, Thornbury and Yeadon.

Approx. 11,200 tons

All bidding documents will be available online at no cost at  www.PennBid.net beginning at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 13, 2018.

Newtown Township 2018 Road Program, Inlet Repair, Roadway Maintenance and Traffic Signal Emergency Backup Power Projects

At the May 29, 2018 Board of Supervisors meeting, the Board of Supervisors awarded the Newtown Township 2018 Road Program, Inlet Repair, Roadway Maintenance and Traffic Signal Emergency Backup Power Projects as follows:

2018 Road Program – awarded to Glasgow, Inc. for a base bid of $594,510.10 and also awarded the three alternate roads for a bid of $422,257.68 for a total bid of $1,016,767.78

2018 Roadway Maintenance – awarded to Asphalt Maintenance Solutions for a bid of $192,550.15

2018 Inlet Repair and Replacement – awarded to Eagle Contracting for a bid of $71,985.00

2018 Traffic Signal Battery Backup – awarded to Charles A. Higgins and Sons for a bid of $51,632.00

Notice is hereby given that Newtown Township will receive bids online via the PennBid Program (www.PennBid.net) until 10 AM on Monday, May 21, 2018 for the projects listed below:

2018 Inlet Repair and Replacement – Work includes full inlet replacement, replacement of inlet tops; and interior repair existing inlets.  Inlet repair/replacements include asphalt roadway and concrete curb restoration.

 2018 Road Program – Work includes milling, binder, overlay and base repair.   An alternate will also be included.

 2018 Roadway Maintenance – Installation of an ultra-thin bonded wearing course.  An alternate will also be included.

 2018 Traffic Signal Battery Back-Up – Furnish and install battery back-up systems at various signalized intersections in the Township.

 All bidding documents will be available online at no cost at www.PennBid.net beginning at 9am on Tuesday, May 8, 2018.

Bids must include a certified check or  bid bond, with  corporate surety authorized to do business in Pennsylvania in the amount of ten percent of the bid, all as posted through PennBid.  A Performance Bond and Payment Bond in the amount of 100% of the contract shall be furnished by the successful bidder as detailed in the Instructions to Bidders.

All bids received will be opened online on May 21st at 10:00 AM at 1060 Andrew Drive, Suite 140, West Chester, PA and referred to the Township for award.

Questions may be submitted through PennBid on or before Noon on Friday, May 18, 2018.  Responses will be provided to all registered plan holders.

Attention of Bidders is called to all of the requirements contained in the bid packages, particularly to the Pennsylvania Prevailing Wage Rates, various insurance requirements, various equal opportunity provisions, requirements for a one year maintenance bond and the E-Verify Public Works Employment Verification Act.

Newtown Township reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids thereof and waive any informalities in the bidding, as they deem in the interest of the Township.
