With the help of Newtown Township's Public Works Crew, volunteers and other organizations, the EAC has begun developing rain gardens in an effort to tackle Newtown's storm water issues head-on. The rain gardens catch rain water and provide a natural drainage system that is both effective and pleasant to look at. These gardens are populated with small trees, shrubs and a number of large perennials - all exceptional for absorbing high amounts of storm water.
Newtown Township and the EAC would like to thank folks from the Chester Ridley Crum Watersheds Association, BlackRock, GreenWeaver and Newtown's Trails and Greenways Committee for their assistance with these projects. Below are a few pictures of our teams getting to work and creating these smart and appealing rain gardens, located at the Township Municipal Building and Newtown Edgemont Little League.
