Bartram Bridge Joint Commission
The Bartram Bridge Joint Commission is governed by a six member board, appointed for two-year terms. There are three members from Newtown Township and three members from Willistown Township. The Board sees to the preservation of the Bartram Bridge, the last remaining covered bridge in Delaware County.

Environmental Advisory Council
The Environmental Advisory Council, comprised of seven members with overlapping three-year terms, exists to advise the Board of Supervisors and others on matters dealing with the protection, management, conservation, promotion and use of the natural resources within Newtown Township.

Leisure Services Commission
Jointly operated with neighboring Marple Township, Marple Newtown Recreation is committed to improving the quality of life of all citizens of the communities in Marple and Newtown Townships. Their mission is practiced through the presentation of quality programs and activities that promote family participation, good health and fitness, youth development and intergenerational experience.

Library Board
A Library Board is appointed by the Newtown Township Board of Supervisors as provided for in the Library Code of the State of Pennsylvania.

Municipal Authority (Sewer)
The Municipal Authority, a five-member board serving for overlapping five-year terms, is organized for the purpose of constructing or otherwise providing the facilities necessary to furnish sewage disposal in Newtown Township. They oversee new sewer projects within the Township and help to facilitate hooking up to sewers for residents. They also do planning for future projects in the Township.

Parks and Recreation Board
The Parks Board, appointed by the Board of Supervisors and serving overlapping five-year terms, is responsible to making recommendations to the Board of Supervisors with regard to Newtown Township parks, activities, open space, recreation services and programs.

Planning Commission
The Planning Commission is comprised of a seven-member board serving overlapping four-year terms. They make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors for their decisions regarding the Ordinances and policies that govern the development of land within Newtown Township.

Zoning Hearing Board
The Zoning Hearing Board, a five-member board with one alternate appointed for overlapping five-year terms, acts as a decision making body for hearings related to zoning regulations, authorization of special exemptions, interpretations and also appeals of the Zoning Ordinance. They assure fair and equitable application of the Township’s Zoning Ordinance.
