An additional “Brainstorming Session” for the Newtown Meadow Preserve has been scheduled for July 5, 2017 at 7pm at the Township Building, 209 Bishop Hollow Rd, Newtown Square. Please come participate and weigh in with your ideas and help shape a vision for the future of the Preserve! The flyer is attached below- please help spread the word!
The Newtown Meadow Preserve is a 50 acre lot that was deeded to the Township as a nature preserve as part of the Rouse subdivision and development (now known as Liseter). This lot is located between Liseter and Episcopal. The preserve sits within the Ridley Creek State Park watershed, the center of Important Bird Area. While it is currently overrun with invasive grass and shrubs, we seek to transform it into a more natural meadow with walking trails for educational and recreational use. Simone Collins Landscape Architects are the consultants the Township has hired to lead us through the Master Plan for the Meadow Preserve.
