Our Parks

Newtown Township is home to an extensive system of parks including walking trails and open space that all of our community and our visitors can enjoy.

Find below a description of these spaces:

Drexel Lodge Park

Our Parks - Drexel Lodge 2Drexel Lodge Park was acquired from Drexel University and was the former home of the football team summer training camp. With the elimination of the program the land was acquired as part of the Newtown Square Corporate Campus project.

The property is the largest public open space on West Chester Pike and along with the general enjoyment of township residents is available for events such as weddings, family and school reunions, picnics, birthday parties, graduations, scouting events and company picnics. Some of the amenities of the park include two large playing fields, two ponds with fountains, a walking bridge at the ponds, a large gazebo, an open air amphitheater, a large covered pavilion that can hold up to 200 people, a historic train museum (home of the Newtown Square Pennsylvania Railroad Museum), bathroom facilities and a railroad-themed playground for children to use. Many of the local sports organizations including the township soccer and lacrosse teams utilize the extensive playing fields.

To reserve the Park for an event, please contact the township building for details on permitting and fees at (610) 356-0200 or click here for the Rental Application.
