Public Works staff will continue collecting Christmas trees the week of January 22nd. Although we had hoped to have completed collection this week, by Friday afternoon we still have several streets that we have not yet gotten to and others where more trees have been put out. It was frustrating to lose another day due to snow issues Tuesday night and Wednesday, and we know it is frustrating for those who have not had their trees picked up yet. Staff tried to compensate – picking up over 200 trees on Thursday and Friday, but there are still many out there. We will resume collections on Monday morning and will continue until all Christmas trees that had been placed out have been picked up.
Due to the inclement weather and need for staff to address snow and ice instead of collecting Christmas trees, Public Works will continue to collect Christmas trees Tuesday, January 16 thru Friday, January 19th. Have your tree at the curb with all bags, tinsel and ornaments removed and it will be collected and recycled. There is not a schedule to be in a particular place at a particular time – staff have been traveling throughout the Township collecting trees.
Thank you for your understanding.
Public Works will resume collecting Christmas Trees for recycling on Tuesday, January 9, 2018. Collections had to be postponed last week and Monday 1/8 due to the need to address snow and ice.
The wood chips created from the recycling of Christmas Trees will be used throughout our township. We ask that trees be placed at the curb and that all ornaments, tinsel and plastic bags be removed. Otherwise, we will be unable to collect the tree.
There is no set collection date for particular areas – crews will travel throughout the Township this week and your tree will be picked up during that time period. Trees put out after the morning of Friday, January 12th will not be collected by the Township.
Be sure to watch the Public Works page of the Township website for other recycling information, such as our annual “Spring Cleanup” of branches, Household Hazardous Waste Collection events in Delaware County, Electronics Recycling event / information as well as our Residential Recycling Collections which take place twice per month throughout the year. Fall Leaf Collection dates for 2018 will be posted in the summer.
